Kat Moore Pottery
Meet the Artist
Alabama-based potter, Kat Moore has been honing her skills in ceramics since 2020. Her artistic pursuit, which started as a way to get out of the house, post-shutdown, quickly evolved into a deep passion for pottery. Over the past few years, Kat has expanded her skills and knowledge by connecting with and learning from potters across the country. Her journey has taken her from the familiar surroundings of her hometown in Tennessee to the vibrant artisan community in Michigan’s capitol, and most recently, to the scenic hills of central Alabama.
Kat is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her work frequently features highly textured surfaces that captivate the eye and invite touch. These textures are carved and impressed by hand using simple tools and found items, such as a small bundle of spaghetti noodles tied together or a rough stick foraged from her backyard.
Inspired by the natural beauty around her and an intrinsic need to create, Kat is committed to pushing the boundaries of her craft. Through her work, she invites others to see the world through her eyes, where even a ball of mud can become something beautiful.
